All parts are BPA free and dishwasher safe.It is common in the manufacturing of new products to have a “burn off” period where the “new” smell will dissipate after a few uses. For best results, we recommend that consumers clean up any spills or overflow after using the blender. This will remove any sticky residue which could cause the cup to stick in the down/ON position.
